First release

Greetings everyone, even though the majority of you probably don't know me.

I am the sole developer behind Change of Hearts and I can honestly say that today's release was the end of one big journey and the beginning of another even longer.

Before I started developing CoH in September 2023, I had published three on-line novels, but I had very limited experience with coding and none experience at all with CharaStudio, rendering and Koikatsu in general. But a group of my friends I've met over the years looking through many VNs as a source of writing inspiration has been constant support to me from the very first day I've decided to try develop something at least mediocre. They constantly gave me tips on what to improve and how to improve it.

For them solely, a group of around 15 people, I have released the 0.1. beta in November, which included the first 27 events of the official version you can play now, before the beginning of the second week at Goldland Academy.  And let me tell you, after that, I hit reverse, hard, because based on several tips, and very useful tips, I have effectively reworked 90 percent of all renders, all while developing new content. It was sometimes gruesome but I can say, it was worth it, because compared to my very first renders which are about to stay in my personal posession forever (probably except April Fool's Day), I see an insane amount of improvement. Without their support, this project would probably never be released at all. I have learned so much during these past five months and I am still learning new stuff and encountering new problems every day. This, so far, has been an epic journey with a very steep learning curve for me.

I just hope that from this point, more of you are going to accompany me on that journey which isn't hopefully about to end any time soon. I know this setting has been here for too many number of times to even count, and that's why I am trying to develop something familiar, yet still different. I have always been more comfortable with writing action-packed stories and I am trying to put a scent of that even into this settings which some of you can already call dull after seeing it for too many times with little to no change.

I wanted something different. That's why I went in this direction. That's why I went in the direction, where people are dealing with heavy traumas, dealing with life-endangering situations and they cannot ever stop to look over their shoulders. I know it might not be what you expect or what you want and I respect your opinions. But I sincerely hope that at least some of you are going to find this concept enjoyable and follow journeys of all these girls and the main protagonist along with me, because right now, to be honest, even I don't know where it's going to take me.

But one thing I know for sure. It's going to be one wild ride. So come and join us, we're waiting for you!
